Hi all,

I intend to replace my old PC. The 64 GB RAM is mandatory for me (I will use the machine as a test environment with a few VM’s on it – 10 – 12 VMs).
My question is related to memory model / brand.
I was thinking to go with:
It should work, right?
I am asking this because I checked the recommended memory list for this motherboard and I didn’t saw the HyperX Predator there (or a configuration I can go with up to 64 GB http://download.gigabyte.eu/FileList/Memory/mb_memory_ga-x79s-up5-wifi.pdf.
I checked also on the Kingston site the recommended modules for GA-X79S-UP5-WIFI, but I found this Memory Search | Kingston (no KHX16C9T2K4/32 HyperX Predator in the list).

So, my main questions:
1. Should work fine with 2 x Kingston KHX16C9T2K4/32 HyperX Predator? The official lists can be outdated, but from specification point of view, it will work?
2. Did any of you put 64 GB on a GA-X79S-UP5-WIFI? If yes, what type of memory?
3. Any tips for the proposed configuration (in terms of overclocking, or in general … tips)?

PS: I am pointing to KHX16C9T2K4/32 because it has CL9. The Kingston 32 GB recommended for this motherboard is KVR16E11K4/32 – but is Value RAM and it has CL11.

Many thanks for replies.

Welcome to Pure OC ! You should skip the Kingston HyperX Predators, and go with the new Kingston HyperX Beast 2133MHz. My contact at Kingston sent me a 64GB kit to use in a custom build I'm doing for one of our sponsors.
It's a really great kit, I tested it with my ASRock X79 Extreme9 and a 3960X, also a 3930K.
