XSPC has been known to bring attractive product to the market usually at an equally attractive price tag. These two factors have made them very popular over the last few years. Radiators, reservoirs, tubing and fittings all were released with a good amount of fanfare. None of those came close to the buzz created by the Photon D5 combo. The sturdy glass Photon was already an instant success and combining it with a strong D5 pump sent a strong message to everyone: XSPC has great minds at work. The sticking point was the overall size left some out in the cold wishing for a combo setup that could fit in the smaller chassis. Ok folks, we are here today to finally silence those that have been complaining, wishing or requesting loudly to XSPC after they released the combo Photon D5 Reservoir . You got your wish! XSPC decided to follow up the incredibly popular Photon D5 with a sought after DDC version. This will make many people happy, including me as I have been working on a lot of small systems lately. The smaller size, good head pressure and sturdy stain resistant glass has me excited to see what it can do and how well it can fit into a beloved small form factor case. Let us get started then.
As performance has increased, traditional cooling solutions have struggled to keep up. Engineers have made air coolers larger, and added more fans and heat pipes in an effort to keep CPU temperatures in check. This approach has only taken us so far in the quest for the ultimate cooling solution. The popularity of custom water cooling has been on the rise among the elite and hardcore gamers. Others find it too bothersome or worrisome to add liquids where we have been taught not to put them. Over the last two years there has been an explosion of middle ground solutions called All in One Liquid (AIO) Cooling or Sealed Loop Systems. These have allowed the better cooling of water without the maintenance or fears of a fully custom water cooling system. Cooler Master has been successful with their previous outings in the seal loop arena but now they want to tackle the last hurdle for all AIO’s; expandability. The Glacer 240L Liquid CPU cooler is meant to address all of your current needs and those you may have in the future. That is a tall order for any CPU cooler but Cooler Master feels the Glacer 240L is up to the task. We will find out soon if they are correct.
Introduction We all know the HAF series of cases from Cooler Master have been a very impressive series boasting excellent air flow and more. I can attest to this having previously owned the HAF-X. In this review we will be taking a look at something new and innovative from Cooler Master, the HAF Stacker 935. The HAF Stacker 935 is a modular case allowing for multiple systems to be installed in the same case! Today we are reviewing the Cooler Master HAF Stacker 935; however, by adding an additional 915 to the bottom (or top) of the case it transforms the Stacker 935 into the Ultra Tower (945). This means we could potentially have our main gaming rig, our server and our dedicated folding rig all in one case! The 935 is actually the combination of the 925 and the 915 cases. Adding the second 915 to the mix upgrades it to the 945. This would allow us to use less space than ever before as you can see in the photo above. The HAF Stacker supports 2x 360, 2x 280, 1x 240 and 1x 120/140mm radiators depending on the configuration you choose. We can also add up to 12 fans and 9 standard hard drives or SSDs, depending on which configuration you choose. There are also two different models of the 915: the 915 R and the 915 F. The 915 F holds the PSU in the front allowing for tower heatsinks. The 915 R has the PSU mounted in the rear, offering better GPU cooling and HDD support.
