The Hardware Hound and the Ultimate PC Case

Have you ever felt that chassis airflow needs to be improved? Or maybe you’ve bought a really great looking PSU, only to have it mostly hidden in the bottom of your case? How do you keep a Crossfire or SLI configuration cool if you don’t plan to put it under liquid? These are all questions The Hardware Hound has officially decided to tackle. Welcome to the build log of the Ultimate PC Case. The project involves building a case that not only has a strategically optimized airflow design, but also keeps the system looking amazing in the process. Check out the video below so you can get an intro to the project and stay posted to PureOC to keep up with the updates on the project. PureOC gives a huge thanks to NZXT for helping sponsor the project. Check out their site at the link below and we’ll catch ya’ next time! https://www.nzxt.com/

NZXT Unleashes the Beast, the H440 Hyper Beast

I’m not a CS:GO player, but I know an awesome paint job when I see one. NZXT is releasing a limited number of custom painted H440 cases and if you love this artwork, you a better hurry. There’s only supposed to be 1,337 units made, but at $200 per case, I’m sure only the biggest fans will be clamoring to reserve the design. I have to say though, it looks like a great design and I hope we see more of this with other game titles as time goes by. Check below for the image gallery and the rest of the press release. Los Angeles, CA – Los Angeles, CA – November 1, 2016 – NZXT today announces the H440 Hyper Beast Limited Edition, a very exclusive version of its classic H440. With H440 Hyper Beast one can say that the beast is truly unleashed” says Johnny Hou, NZXT’s founder and CEO. H440 Hyper Beast ma...

Hound Advice: Best Case for Cooling

Is it really the case, or is it all about the fans? Turns out it’s both. You need good fans, but you also need a case that supports lots of them. The Hardware Hound had a suspicion about what would be the best chassis for a system that generates a lot of heat, but now he has some testing that helps back up what experience was starting to show. Check out the video below so you can find out how to handle the heat, while still showing off all of the awesomeness in your build, as well as finding out what case seems to check both categories perfectly with crazy amounts of fan support. Enermax Coenus

Enermax has added a new case to their already impressive line-up. The Coenus is a mid-tower case that comes in either black or gunmetal grey. This mid-tower case supports high end GPU's with seven expansion slots for two or three way SLI/CF depending on the size of your cards. We had no problem fitting in two GTX 680's as you will see later in this review. The Coenus can fit up to seven 3.5" devices depending on the configuration you choose. The Coenus sports a large smoke-colored window, which is raised outward for those using taller heatsinks. This version of the case includes one 120mm Red LED fan and one rear 120mm exhaust fan. With mid-tower cases we frequently worry about cable management... fitting larger PSU's and a few other things can sometimes be difficult in a mid-tower. Let's see if Enermax has come up with a winner by avoiding this issue.
