Ryzen CPUs were a hugely successful release, but it took completely redesigning the architecture from the ground up. It looks like AMD will take the same approach with their Radeon division to introduce a new graphics architecture in 2020-2021.

With all the anticipation for AMD and Radeon's Vega architecture, the performance did not live up to the expectation. Then Raja left to work for Intel and the graphics division looked like it was in serious limbo. The new hires to run the division however, look like they can turn things around.
