CES 2013 PureOC Coverage
Introduction With CES 2013 going into full swing and manufacturers showing off their new line of tech gadgets that will be released this coming year, we took a short drive out to the CES 2013 show in Las Vegas, Nevada to check out some of the exciting news. While this Massive show was impossible to fully cover with the few days we were there, we managed to catch up with a few of our sponsors and check in with them to see what we should expect for this coming season. First we would like to thank: Cooler Master, Kingston, MSI, Sapphire Tech, Zalman and Lian Li for meeting with us during the show and showing us the new gadgets for this year. While these were the manufacturers we managed to meet with, we also headed down to the massive convention hall to check out some other items by: LG, ViewSonic and nVidia. Cooler Master Let’s first thank Lulu and Nic from Cooler Master for inviting us up to the suite to check out the items we are excited to talk about. This is Cooler Master’s new line of the QuickFire Rapid Stealth keyboards, the keys are blacked out at the top and each letter has been moved to its front side as you can see from the picture. This is great for those that don’t really need the letter visible from the top and are really looking for that sleek look. Also this will ...

Lian Li Announces the PC-V650 ATX Chassis with Side Mounted Power Supply Design
Fit in Your Hardware Without the Extra Height 7 August 2012, Keelung, Taiwan – Lian-Li Industrial Co. Ltd, today announces an aluminum ATX supported chassis with a side mounted power supply design – PC-V650. With the power supply to be mounted on its side, the PC-V650 is shorter than most ATX chassis while still having room to install the hardware that DIY builders desire. Instead of sitting underneath the expansion slots, a power supply up 230mm (9.0”) in length can be placed sideways parallel to the expansions slots, adding to the width of the case. With this design the 360mm (14.1”) tall and 251mm (9.8”) wide PC-V650 does not need the extra height to fit DIY builder’s preferred components. Even though the PC-V650 is shorter, up to seven 3.5” hard drives (two hot-swappable) and four 2.5” hard drives can be installed. The bottom 3.5” HDD cage, containing four 3.5” slots, is easily removed allowing expansion cards up to 370mm (14.5”) in length. Above the hard drive cages, there is space for one 5.25” drive. The PC-V650 does not sacrifice size for cooling ability. Two removable 140mm fans behind the front panel blow cool air directly on the hard drive cages or expansion cards if bottom cage is removed. A 140mm fan on the top and a 120mm fan in the rear of the chassis keep cool air circulating throughout the case by pulling hot air out of the chassis. For overclockers, CPU coolers up to 120mm (4.7”) fit comfortably. The PC-V650 also supports...
Lian Li Announces Silent ATX Chassis – PC-B12
Lian-Li Industrial Co. Ltd, today announces a silent brushed aluminum ATX supported chassis – PC-B12. The PC-B12 has many features to keep noise down to minimum, including: a vent on the bottom of the chassis pulling in cool air, a downward facing exhaust baffle and noise dampening foam on the front and side panels. The front panel of the PC-B12 has no visible vents. Instead of air entering in from the front, two 140 mm fans behind the front panel pull in cool air through the 12 cm wide (4.7″) intake vent on the bottom of the chassis. Four sturdy aluminum feet with rubber bottoms to reduce vibrations give ample room for air to be pulled into the bottom vent. The rear 120 mm exhaust fan has an adjustable downward facing exhaust baffle on the exterior of the case with noise dampening foam that not only bounces the sound waves down, but also directs the hot air towards the floor. The easily removable front panel and side panels of the PC-B12 both have noise dampening foam to further reduce sound from escaping the chassis. Up to three 3.5″ hard drives with an hotswap option and one 2.5″ hard drive can be installed in the hard drive cage at the front of the chassis. Two 5.25″ drives are easily installed thanks to the bays’ tool-less mounting system. Power supplies up to 240 mm (9.4″) in length can be placed in the bottom compartment. Ventilation slits underneath the PSU with a removable pull-out filter help increase the life and perform...
