Giveaway! It’s time to win something at PureOC! Lamptron has some new products and wanted us to not only review them, but host a giveaway as well. Fan controllers might seem a tad antiquated these days, but what if I told you that you could control RGB lighting without the need of extra software? Lamptron has done the unimaginable by making the CL420 fan controller that can also control the RGB lighting effects in fans and LED strips. The video explains, as well as shows, that the CL420 does an excellent job of controlling fan speed, while also giving tons of RGB LED lighting controls for both fans and strips. This is such an incredibly unique design that I have to give huge props to Lamptron for introducing it. The CM512 is a pretty standard fan controller, but it offers a solid option for users who want non-obtrusive, hardware based speed control. The biggest issues I see with these products is a slightly limited availability and a fairly steep price of over $60 for the CL420 on Amazon. Overall though, Lamptron really outdid themselves with the CL420! Use the entry form below to add entries into the giveaway and don’t forget to check out the full video for all of the review details. In order to win, you must be 18 years or older and have a valid shipping address in the contiguous 48 states of the US. Don’t forget to join or forums and ask any PC related questions you might have. Finally, we also happily award the Lamptron CL420 and CM512 the Pure Overc...
You might have seen the name Lamptron pop up on our site a couple of times. They might seem a bit obscure, but they have some surprisingly cool products that cover niches not explored by other companies. Our recent review of their LED strips showed some brilliant designs in giving users lighting control without software or a large-ish control boxes. Once again, Lamptron is at it with designing an all-in-one RGB LED Light and Fan controller. The CL420 is a 5.25″ bay controller that is meant to control LED strips and RGB LED fans from nearly every manufacturer. If you like NZXT’s strips but prefer the lighting design on Corsair’s fans, in theory you can control each from this single controller. The question comes in how many lighting options you’ll have, but it’s nice to know that you wouldn’t need any additional software to handle the settings. Based on the performance of their recent RGB LED strips, I imagine there will be numerous effects built into the controller. The good news is it looks like Lamptron already has a page up on their site for the CL420. You can check out the details at the link below, but it’s hard to narrow down what the availability and price will be at the time being. Hopefully time will permit us to get a chance to take a look at it and really see what it’s capable of. http://www.lamptron.com/2016/08/08/lamptron-cl420-case-controller/
