DREVO’s Ultimate Keyboard Destroyed Kickstarter Goal – I don’t Understand it

Drevo has the BladeMaster Mechanical Gaming Keyboard on a Kickstarter campaign, and they destroyed their goal in the period of about a day. Sure, it's a nice peripheral, but how does a Genius-Knob make it the Ultimate gaming keyboard? It must be doing something right.

The Dune Case is a Smooth take on Mini-ITX

When I see the term Kickstarter, I default to a new video game getting made. I get it, Kickstarters are for much more than just games, but it seems to be the only time I really notice them is with a new game. (I’m looking at you Yooka-Laylee!) So I was a bit surprised to see a computer case trying to get launched off a Kickstarter. I was also surprised to see a case that’s round, but I think the Dune Case is on to something pretty cool looking. The best thing about the Dune Case is that it looks more like an air purifier than a computer case. This isn’t to pick on the case, but makes the point of how well it would fit in a living room decor. The cylindrical shape is something that you would normally see with numerous electronic devices that are designed to be used next to the sofa or the entertainment center. While that’s great for people who care about decorating, what intrigues the enthusiast inside of me is the airflow design. By using a 140mm fan in the top, the air is pulled from the bottom of the case and easily vented out the top like a tiny wind tunnel. The only thing I wish it had was a second fan on the bottom to help push the air through, but the PSU location would make that a bit tricky. The Dune Case is certainly something I would like to use for a home theater setup, especially since I cut the cable/dish chord a long time ago. My only concern for this case is that because it’s a Kickstarter, it has to swim on it’s own which...

Intriguing Gaming/PC Desk Kickstarter Project Called ‘Paradise Desk’

Over the years that many of us have been gaming, one of the most overlooked aspects of the experience is the desk. It’s easy to ignore it once we find a desk that is even remotely comfortable, but that doesn’t mean there can’t be a better solution. Enter “Paradise Desk.” This is a new Kickstarter (crowd-funding) project we found intriguing and worth sharing. Whether you are a PC or a console gamer, or you game on both, some of us use a desk for gaming. Obviously, most console gamers will likely have their setup in the living room, so a desk is moot for them, but there are still a few out there who use a desk instead. The “Paradise Desk” could be the perfect solution for any of these needs. The folks at “Paradise Desk” aim to offer a desk that is the best of all possible worlds. It offers an attractive modern industrial design aesthetic, and melds it with the ability to utilize space more efficiently and cover up those annoying cables strewn about. Here’s a quote from the developer with a quick description of their concept, KickStarter – Paradise Desk Concept Video In the video above you get a good look at the prototype they are planning to mass-produce. What do you guys think? Could this be the gamer’s ultimate desk? Here’s a link to the Kickstarter project if you want to check out more info, or if you want to join the project.
