GeIL Evo X DDR4 3200 Memory Review

Introduction Wait a second! Didn’t we already see an Evo X RAM review already!?! Alright, you may have caught us, but there’s a really good explanation for it. Uh…. You know what, let’s not look a gift horse in the mouth and just enjoy a second review, shall we? That said, DDR4 has increased at an incredible rate and some boards that are just a couple of years old have trouble keeping up with the higher frequencies already. Being PureOC, we wanted to make sure we got to take advantage of top stock frequencies and push a little past that as well. As such, we’ll mostly skip the packaging and closer look fan fairs. I’ll include a link to the previous review since it has those categories already, but I’ll also post video so you can get a closer look there as well. Since we have the Gigabyte Aorus Z270X Gaming 7 motherboard, we’ll be able to show off some nice RAM speeds as a result. We’ll get into the testing soon enough, but first let’s check out the company statement from GeIL one more time and thank them again for sending another sample our way. GeIL – Golden Emperor International Ltd. – one of the worlds’ leading PC components & peripheral manufacturers that concentrate in making the most innovative products, from memory modules, power supply units to gaming peripherals, for PC enthusiasts worldwide. Established in 1993, GeIL has soon become one of the most trusted memory professionals in the industr...

GEIL EVO X DDR4 RGB DDR4 3000 32GB Kit Overview

Introduction Where to start? I have in my grubby little paws a set of GEIL EVO X DDR4 3000 32GB (2 x 16GB) sticks of RAM. As if that isn’t fantastic enough, it’s RGB lit! High Speed RAM and Glowy Bits. What’s not to like? First things first, let me lay something out here and now. I’ve been building computers since 1993, and in all those years, I have never used a product from GEIL. Ever. This seems a bit strange to me since as it turns out, GEIL was established in the same year (1993) that I began building PC’s. To be fair, in those days just getting a PC to work was my primary concern and the concept of “Performance” and “RAM” didn’t have any meaning when associated with my 386DX/33 based system. Over the years, I’ve seen GEIL mentioned in reviews and occasionally noted them as being for sale on NewEgg or similar sites, but for some reason I’ve never picked any up. It doesn’t seem like I’m alone either. Do some searching for GEIL and you’ll find threads on many US Tech Sites that ask about who GEIL is and if they’re any good. Interestingly, the reviews I’ve read of their RAM (often by European based websites) say positive things about GEIL RAM and it’s clear that GEIL is more readily available and more heavily marketed in the Far East and Europe than we find to be the case here in the USA. To be fair to GEIL, it’s also got to be tough to compete against entren...

CES 2017: Geil, Deepcool, MSI, AMD Ryzen and Vega

CES 2017 coverage marches right along with another great set of show floors from some great companies. Geil showed off some excellent peripherals, Deepcool blew our minds with awesome looking cases and fans, and MSI continues to deliver great motherboards. However, we finally got to catch up with AMD and get a solid look at what to expect with the Ryzen and Vega releases. We have a little bit longer to wait before full specs arrive, but confidence is certainly rising in what team Red is trying to deliver. As always, check out the video below for the full details and don’t forget to leave some comments in the forums!
