Introducing Pandora

BitFenix Pandora – Style Without Limits Brushed aluminum and integrated LCD logo bring MATX design to the next level (BitFenix Design Lab, September 18, 2014) – With the release of the venerable Prodigy, BitFenix changed what people expected from compact cases by combining groundbreaking aesthetics with supreme functionality in a compact form factor. Today, the BitFenix Lab is releasing our latest achievement in chassis design – Pandora. Combining a fresh and clean modern look with never-before-seen functionality in a slim form factor, Pandora represents the next level of BitFenix case design. The Journey Nowadays, computers are not restricted to the study or computer room. With the advent of digital media and streaming services, more and more PCs are breaking free from their traditional computing environments and moving towards the living room. With that in mind, BitFenix sought to design a case that would blend in perfectly with this environment. It had to look less like a computer and more like a modern entertainment appliance. Everything from the choice of materials to the finish of the surfaces needed to be attractive when placed beside a TV or entertainment unit. At the same time, the design had to retain its DIY roots. It needed to be compatible with a wide range of readily-available hardware on the market, be able to keep these components running cool, and it had to avoid the common pitfalls of compact cases by being easy to build in. After months of deve...

Bitfenix Comrade Case Review

Introduction New APU systems are becoming more popular allowing builders and enthusiasts to build more high demanding systems on a budget. Why not put non-budget builds in a budget minded case? Bitfenix has given us the opportunity to take a look at their Comrade case, and not just one but two! These cases were designed strictly for budget builds; while they don’t offer the opportunity for major expansions or the room for a high end system, they can still hold up to 6 hard drives and support graphic cards up to 30cm in length. During our test builds, we’ll be building a low end APU system as well as stuffing a “Gamers dream PC” into these cases to determine just how much we can get away with. Before we get started filling up these cases, let’s take a closer look at the build quality and features we have to work with. Focused on combining superior design with the latest advances in technology, BitFenix creates state-of-the-art computer hardware and peripherals that blur the line between man and machine. Users shouldn’t have to adjust themselves to the way their hardware works. So, we strive to put the user in complete control of his hardware, so that it functions as an extension of his will, and not as another variable he has to compensate for. In the heat of battle, the user should not have to worry about the state of his equipment, which is why BitFenix products are engineered to perform under even the most extreme conditions. No matter how...

BitFenix Releases New Prodigy M Colors

New colors and window side panel options take customization to the next level (BitFenix Design Lab, August 21, 2014) – The BitFenix Design Lab has always been listening intently to the feedback from the community, and nowhere has this been more evident than the release of the Prodigy M chassis. The micro ATX variant of the Prodigy, Prodigy M is the result of direct feedback from users who wanted the same styling and sophistication of Prodigy, but desired the capability of installing micro ATX motherboards. Today, BitFenix is announcing not one, but two releases inspired by community feedback: Prodigy M Color and Prodigy M Window Side Panels. Prodigy M Color Offered in both Midnight Black and Arctic White variants, Prodigy M made a big splash when it was introduced last August. Featuring an all-new layout, it maintained the styling and size of the original Prodigy, but added micro ATX motherboard support. Since its release, users have been wondering if it would be getting the same color options as the original Prodigy, and starting today, Prodigy M fans will finally be able to get their hands on four new vibrant colors: • Fire Red • Atomic Orange • Vivid Green • Cobalt Blue Bold yet minimalistic, the new color versions of Prodigy M are perfect for those who want the same award-winning case, but with a dash of color to light up any decor. What’s more, Prodigy M will also have window side panel models. With the new Prodigy M color options, users now have more ...

BitFenix Fury 650G Power Supply Review

Innovation is the name of the game; if you want to keep your product line relevant and interesting then you need to mix things up a bit and give people a reason to be genuinely excited about choosing a part from your repertoire. In the world of power supplies, this innovation is coming slowly but surely as manufacturers determine how to better serve their PC enthusiast community with products that make their jobs a little bit easier and their builds a little more awesome. BitFenix opted to take the road less traveled with this, their first-ever power supply. They took a solid, stable 80 Plus Gold certified platform using all Japanese top shelf capacitors, then sleeved every single cable for you right out of the box. The name is somehow ironic to us, as they call it the BitFenix Fury, yet this power supply is poised to be anything BUT infuriating. Having well sleeved cables with a myriad of connector options and varying wattage ratings for your individual computing needs, could this be part of your next build? No spoilers yet on what we think of it, so let's read on.

Color Your World with BitFenix Neos

Color Your World with BitFenix Neos Smart and simple case design with multiple color options to suit your own personal style (BitFenix Design Lab, May 15, 2014) – Introducing Neos, the latest case design from the BitFenix Design Lab. With clean, uncluttered styling, multiple color options, and excellent upgradability, Neos brings the value case segment to the next level. Playing With Color At the BitFenix Labs, chassis design is all about balance. You want something eye-catching, but not ostentatious. How we’ve accomplished this starts with the clean and simple front panel. With clean shapes that provide openings for the optical drive bays and front ventilation, This panel is adorned with a large piece of mesh that comes in a variety of eye catching colors, allowing users to choose the one that fits them best. Looking to match the room the PC is stationed at? No problem. Wanting to match the components inside? You can do that, too. Introducing BitFenix Fury PSU Series

Introducing BitFenix Fury PSU Series Top quality components and impressive design combine for the ultimate PSU (BitFenix Design Lab, April 30, 2014) – For a long time, the power supply is one part of the PC that users prefer to remain unseen. These dull, lifeless boxes were made to perform in the background, away from sight. Challenging the status quo, BitFenix set out to make a power supply that not only delivered on a performance level, but also utilized enough design elements to let it stand out in a system build. To that end, BitFenix announces the Fury Power Supply Series. Featuring top quality components like all Japanese capacitors, a killer design aesthetic, and top-notch efficiency, Fury is set to become the new gold standard in semi-modular power supply units.   Killer Aesthetics Starting with the chassis, Fury brings a bold yet sophisticated design to the realm of power supplies. Both top and bottom are adorned with a stamped BitFenix logo, along with a custom aluminum ring accent that exudes an aggressive look no matter which direction you install it. Combined with a quality matte powder-coat finish, Fury is the first PC power supply that’s designed to enhance the look of your system. After taking the modding world by storm with the Alchemy lineup of sleeved cable extensions, BitFenix has brought its one of a kind Nanosleeve braiding to the Fury Power Supply. Bitfenix Collosus Mini ITX Review

Lately it seems I have been covering the smaller side of things in reviews. If you read any of them, you will know that I am not a big fan of the diminutive size of Micro and Mini anything when it comes to computing. The bigger the better has been my motto. Huge cases that could fit every feature you might ever want, plus the remains of Jimmy Hoffa, have been my focus for the last few years. Despite this, not too long ago I had the chance to experiment with some of the newer small offerings from Bitfenix and MSI in the form of the Prodigy M and the Z87I Micro ATX Gaming board. I freely admit that I had a change of heart. To my surprise the performance differences between full size and snack size has been erased during this recent resurgence of the minuscule. Bitfenix is now giving me the chance to go even smaller with a Mini-ITX based Colossus M in an effort to fully rehabilitate my aversion to pint size PCs! If it is anything like the Prodigy M, they might just succeed. Let's dig in and find out!

BitFenix Prodigy M

The desktop PC has evolved into a platform for enthusiasts and modders to cram as much gear into a case as they can. Sometimes it is just not practical for taking to a LAN or using as an HTPC due to the size and weight of a custom PC. There has been a concerted effort by some case manufacturers to reduce the footprint of the desktop without leaving the features of a larger chassis behind. We all have grown spoiled to the conveniences of cable routing, drive bays and countless cooling options. This is where the ingenuity and innovation of BitFenix comes into play. BitFenfix, the creator of the popular mini ITX Prodigy case is looking to fill a gap in the small form factor market. Many complained the original Prodigy did not support the larger micro ATX board and felt left out. The Prodigy M with full support for micro ATX and mini ITX boards is said to offer the same flexibility and style of the original Prodigy case with the same small footprint. Let's take a look into how BitFenix pulled this off.

BitFenix Ronin Case Review

Introduction BitFenix has made some pretty impressive cases in the past, from their Shinobi XL all the way down to the small yet powerful Prodigy. Let’s also not forget about the Spectre series fans, the Alchemy sleeved PSU extensions, and their LED strips. We all have seen one of these cases modded at some point. I’ve seen at least 100 case mods/builds featuring one of BitFenix’s cases. This is because of their innovative thought and design process. Now we’re back with another innovative case design, the Ronin. The Ronin has a feature we usually only see on modded cases, a feature that has to be hand made. It’s BitFenix’s stealth cover. This stealth cover is used to add a great aesthetic look and feel to the case. It also helps hide those unsightly ODD/HDD bays and PSU out of site so we can focus on the actual parts we want to display. We have support for a 240mm rad out of the box, a removable FlexCage, and it includes 2x 120mm fans. One of the new features the Ronin offers that I’ve never seen on a case is its SofTouch™ surface treatment. This adds a classy style to the Ronin. Before we start this review let’s read a little bit about BitFenix.   BitFenix is the result of the collaboration of several veterans in both the technology and gaming industries. From the same minds behind some of technology’s most venerable products, BitFenix creates hardware and peripherals that grant the user the utmost control, strengt...
