Addonics Announces Complete Family of Industrial or Enterprise Grade SSDs

Addonics Announces Complete Family of Industrial or Enterprise Grade SSDs — Series Includes CFast, mSATA, and M2 in Durable SLC NAND Flash SAN JOSE, CA (October 28, 2015) — Addonics Technologies (www.addonics.com) today announced a new family of SSDs that support the CFast, mSATA and M2 form factors in both Industrial or Enterprise class grades. The Addonics Industrial class SSD is one of the most reliable SSDs on the market. Made of SLC NAND flash, the Addonics Industrial SSD boosts the TBW (total bytes written) durability five to eight times more than commercial grade MLC SSD. For applications that demand the highest reliability, Addonics SSDs made with SLC NAND flash are the best choice. This highly durable SSD is ideal for mission critical applications that are deployed in industries such as data centers, finance and aerospace or manufacturing facilities with equipment operating in a harsh environment. All Addonics SLC NAND flash SSDs are rated to operate in the industrial temperature range of (- 45°C – 80 °C ). The Addonics Enterprise class SSD uses MLC NAND flash. Also rated to operate in the industrial temperature range, this Enterprise class SSD is more cost-effective than the Addonics Industrial grade SSD. However MLC NAND Flash, due to the higher storage capacity per cell incurs higher READ/WRITE cycles per cell than SLC SSD, which decreases the durability. Addonics new SSDs range from 4GB to 256GB capacity. Addonics also offers a full line of...

Addonics Announces Rack-Mount SATA to USB 3.1 Converter

Addonics Announces Rack-Mount SATA to USB 3.1 Converter SAN JOSE, CA (July 23, 2015) — Addonics Technologies (www.addonics.com) today announced a rack-mount SATA to USB 3.1 Converter, which allows users to turn any SATA device into the latest SuperSpeed+ USB 3.1 storage solution. When connected to a USB 3.1 port, the converter can deliver data throughput up to 10 Gbps. This effectively doubles the speed of USB 3.0 and is 20 times faster than USB 2.0. Since it is backward compatible with previous USB standards, any SATA hard drive, SSD (Solid State Drive), and even optical drives can easily be converted into USB 3.1 storage. It comes mounted on a SCIS-I bracket, which means it can easily be mounted onto any storage enclosure with a standard SCSI-1 (Centronic 50) cut out. It can be mounted on a standard desktop computer chassis by using an optional PCI mounting bracket. The converter comes in a choice of models. There’s also a model with a WRITE-PROTECT function that is ideal for sharing drives containing important data among different users or for forensic application. Drives connecting to this bridge appear as READ-ONLY media, similar to a CD or DVD disc. All features are identical as the standard version except the WRITE function is disabled. This unique feature ensures absolute protection on any hard drive or SSD against virus contamination or data tampering. The new products are an ideal companion to the Addonics USB 3.1 PCIe controller, which the company announ...

Addonics secure NAS storage appliance

— Combines RAID, NAS, DAS and Encryption in One Enclosure SAN JOSE, CA (June 27, 2013) — Addonics Technologies (www.addonics.com) today announced the Secure NAS series of storage appliances, which combine the benefits of RAID, Network Attached Storage (NAS), Direct Attached Storage (DAS) and hardware AES 256-bit encryption all in one enclosure. It is an ideal solution for storing large volumes of sensitive data, for securely transporting large volumes of data between different locations, or for any application that requires protection against data theft. The Secure NAS can be directly attached to any system via high speed eSATA connection, which allows the quick transfer of large data volumes. The same data in the Secure NAS can be shared over a 1 Gigabit network. The entire RAID volume, including the boot sector and partition table, is encrypted. Data written onto or retrieved from the RAID is encrypted and decrypted on the fly by a high performance FIPS certified AES 256-bit crypto engine. Encryption is activated via the simple insertion of a Cipher key when powering up the Secure NAS. There is no password to remember or the installation of any software. The Secure NAS R5 model, the first in the Secure NAS family, accommodates up to five 3.5″ SATA hard drives. All five drives are configured in a single RAID volume for high performance and reliability. By using RAID 5 configuration, a storage volume up to 16 TBs can be created by using five 4TB hard driv...

Addonics Unveils CipherUSB Family of Hardware Encryption Solutions

SAN JOSE, CA (May 28, 2013) — Addonics Technologies (www.addonics.com) today announced a family of USB hardware encryption solutions that protect sensitive data stored on hard drives, removable drives, flash media, optical media or in the cloud with bullet proof security. The CipherUSB products use a FIPS certified AES 256-bit hardware crypto engine. Unlike software encryption products whose performance relies on the system processor power, the CipherUSB products ensure maximum performance in a wide range of hardware. Because these solutions do not store passwords on the computer or in the system’s volatile memory, there is much better security than with software encryption. The CipherUSB family consists of FLE (file level encryption) and FDE (full disk encryption) versions. Both offer a choice of ECB or CBC mode encryption, or a choice of standard authentication with no password entry or two-factor authentication, which requires a combination of password and the CipherUSB dongle. The CipherUSB FLE solution encrypts any file stored on any drive, media, network or cloud storage whereas the FDE solution encrypts the entire USB storage attached to the CipherUSB dongle. Among the many CipherUSB features is the option to write protect the boot sector or the entire disk on the USB storage attached to the CipherUSB. This solution is perfect for protecting any USB storage against viruses or malware attacks. It is also ideal for forensics applications. The CipherUSB FLE...

The Addonics Internal Reader/Writer mounts directly in the 3.5″ drive bay of any system and connects via the SATA port or SuperSpeed USB 3.0 port. Like the external version, the Internal Reader/Writer comes bundled with two adapters for the mSATA SSD and CFast card and converts the mSATA or the CFast media into a 1.8″ micro SATA SSD that can be inserted into the open slot of the reader/writer. A model with two slots is also available to accommodate two media onto the same drive bay. With the op...

Addonics Unveils Advanced Port Multiplier – Connect 5 eSATA Storage Devices To Any Computer

SAN JOSE, CA (August 16, 2012) — Addonics Technologies (www.addonics.com) today announced the Port Multiplier (PM) Ultra, one of the most advanced external PMs on the market. It will connect as many as five eSATA storage devices to any computer via a single eSATA or USB 3.0 port. The five external hard drives attached to the PM Ultra can be configured as RAID 0/1/5/10, combined as one large volume, or appear as five individual drives. You can also connect five SATA optical drives, such as DVD-RRW or Blu-ray drives, to your system via the eSATA connection and do simultaneous recording. By attaching multiple Addonics RAID Towers, you can easily build a large storage farm in excess of 100 TB. The storage devices that are attached to the PM Ultra are easily shareable on any LAN by attaching to the Addonics NAS 4.0 adapter. RAID configuration is set via dip switches on the back of the unit or via the included software utility. The drive and PM status are visually monitored by LEDs on the front and back or via the bundled monitoring software. If a drive failure or RAID error occurs, users are notified via an audio alert or via email to an SMTP account. The hot swap capability of the PM Ultra also allows external hard drives to be conveniently attached or removed on-the-fly without restarting the system. The Addonics PM Ultra is constructed in a heavy gauge metal housing with ventilation on the side for efficient heat dissipation. The PM Ultra can be easily installed in var...
