Vista crack that allegedly works
written by James - March 4, 2007 11:29
Apparently a genuine crack for Windows Vista has just been released by pirate group Pantheon, which allows pirated, non-activated installations of Vista (Home Basic/Premium and Ultimate) to be properly activated and made fully-operational.

Unlike cracks which have been floating around since Vista RTM was released in late November, this crack doesn’t simply get around product activation with beta activation files or timestop cracks - it actually makes use of the activation process. It seems that Microsoft has allowed large OEMs like ASUS to ship their products with a pre-installed version of Vista that doesn’t require product activation – apparently because end users would find it too inconvenient.

Microsoft's high Vista prices and intrusive activation procedures, not to mention the complications for PC enthusiasts regarding hardware changes on OEM copies, will no doubt mean a lot of people who normally go legit, simply won't this time.

In my opinion, the OEM pricing of Vista is fine, but anyone who changes hardware often cannot take the OEM route and must go retail. Vista retail prices are ludicrous, especially in the UK, and while i don't condone piracy, I wouldn't blame a sole who changes hardware often for using this crack and sticking two fingers up at Profitsoft.
