Fermi, or at least it looks like fermi...

Originally planned for a late November launch, Fermi --Nvidia's answer to the 58xx series-- is now looking towards the new year to unleash it's monster GPU.

At this stage, not a great deal is known regarding the gaming performance of Fermi, with most details so far focusing on general purpose computing. However, if rumours are correct, at least we now know Fermi might be in our greasy mitts sometime in January.

Multiple sources now claim that Nvidia has promised to ship Fermi in January 2010. We are talking about GF100 Fermi, the GPU that is expected to defeat ATIs Radeon HD 5000-series offerings. To make matters more clear, January is the time when you can hope to buy a high-end Geforce desktop graphics card based on Fermi.
