Noctua @ Computex 2009
written by Snoops - June 10, 2009 09:15
Noctua exhibited several exclusive new products at this year's Computex trade show. First off, we've been pleased to show an upcoming new version of the popular NF-P12 fan that will fulfil a long-time customer request by integrating PWM support for convenient, fully automatic speed control. This will also be a feature of the new NF-P14, a highly optimized 140mm quiet fan that's following in the footsteps of the NF-P12. Both the impeller hub and the bearing shell of the NF-P14 will feature metal reinforcements in order to ensure ultimate manufacturing precision. Using the same hole-spacing as common 120mm fans and providing a superior airflow/noise ratio, the NF-P14 is ideal for upgrading 120mm CPU or case fans.

With socket LGA1156 just around the corner, we've also shown a prototype of our new 3-in-1 mounting system for LGA1366, LGA1156 and LGA775. Adding support for Intel's upcoming Core i5 (Lynnfield) CPUs, the mounting kit is backwards compatible with all Noctua coolers since 2005 and will most likely be available free of charge or at a very low service fee for all Noctua users. At the same time, the mounting kit will also be available in a bundle with the new NF-P14 fan, allowing Noctua users to upgrade at the same time both cooling performance and socket compatibility of their heatsinks.

For the workstation and server market, we've shown a new version of our successful DX series of CPU coolers, which is now compatible with the new Xeon 5500 (Nehalem EP) processors. Just like our previous DX series coolers, the new NH-U12DX 1366 and NH-U9DX 1366 are true drop-in replacements for standard Intel coolers.

Last but not least, we've given a first glimpse of two upcoming retail CPU coolers: Firstly, we've exhibited an updated version of the popular NH-C12P equipped with the new NF-P14 140mm fan for further improved CPU and component cooling performance as well as PWM speed control. Secondly, we've shown our upcoming new flagship model, NH-D14, which combines a massive six heatpipe dual radiator design with a NF-P14/NF-P12 dual PWM fan configuration for ultimate quiet cooling performance.
