S3 unveil three ultra-low power mobile Chrome GPU's
written by Ciro - September 25, 2008 11:45

S3 Graphics has rather quietly taken the wraps off three new mobile GPU's, namely the Chrome 440 ULP, 435 ULP and 430 ULP. Specifications are currently unknown.

The new GPUs feature DirectX 10.1 support, the ChromotionHD video technology, a 64-bit memory interface and a unified shared architecture.

"S3 Graphics can now deliver a superior mobile visual experience that users will soon demand on all mini-note and notebook products," said Dr. Ken Weng, GM for S3 Graphics. "Our latest Chrome 400 ULP series processors offer manufacturers a mobile graphics component that’s long overdue; a truly power-efficient mobile GPU that really performs."

Although it didn't provide the specifications of the three Chrome 400 ULP GPUs S3 did mention that they are already shipping to OEMs so hopefully we'll be seeing them in a few laptops soon.
