The Asus Eee PC 1000H is now available on Newegg. The 10.2" 1024x600 display, 1GB of memory, 80GB hard drive and Atom processor all add up to $649.
Asus outfits the Eee PC 1000H with a 10.2" 1024x600 display, an Intel Atom processor, 1GB of DDR2 memory, an 80GB mechanical hard drive, 802.11n Wi-Fi connectivity, and a six-cell battery rated for around seven hours at best. The Eee PC 1000H has a bigger keyboard than the Eee PC 901, but its larger footprint also translates into a greater weight—3.2 lbs (1.45 kg) instead of 2.4 lbs (1.1 kg). The system Newegg sells comes with Windows XP Home Edition, although Asus has also announced a Linux-powered version of the 1000H.
In the absence of Newegg product photos, you can check out our image gallery for high-resolution photos of the Eee PC 901 and 1000 in both black and white garb. Judging by the product name, this listed 1000H seems to be the black version.
