Nintendo's E3 press-conference coverage
written by Ciro - July 17, 2008 07:30

PC World have the low-down on Nintendo's press-conference at E3. Among the already detailed MotionPlus, a new WiiSports and Wii Music are on the agenda.

Fils-Aime seemed confident when he said he expected the Wii to have outsold all other consoles when NPD numbers are revealed this week, and his charts showed just how impressive the sales for the Wii and Nintendo DS have been. It's hard to dispute: Nintendo is sitting at the very top of the heap, and the company is very comfortable there.

While a few other games were revealed, such as Shaun White's Snowboarding—a game that uses the balance board and actually looked like fun—and a new version of Guitar Hero: On Tour called Guitar Hero On Tour: Decades, as well as, a DS-exclusive GTA title called Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown with a new engine and new characters.

It's clear that Nintendo knows where it wants to go, and it's making family-friendly games for the casual market. The company may pay lip-service to the idea of the core or hardcore gamer, but at this press event, actions speak louder than words.
