Eee PC sales have fallen well short of Asus' expectations for the first half of this year. Some 1.7 million units were shipped - 300,000 short of the expected 2 million.
The Taiwanese company has delivered 1.7 million Eee PCs in the first half of this year and that's some 300,000 units short of the 2 million expected initially.
Apparently, everything from component (Atom CPUs, batteries) shortages from the current state of the global economy are to blame but that hasn't convinced Asus to lower its shipment goal for 2008 which remains at (over) 5 million.
