AMD financial woes, but 2007 is looking good

According to an article publshed today, AMD will face some finacial troubles over the next few quarters.

Wall street watchers Merrill Lynch told customers yesterday that AMD needs another $1bn in equity funding to make it through 2007, given its incredibly tight cash situation.

But i doubt this is a serious concern otherwise AMD would not have spent $5 billion on ATI late last year.

A lot hinges on AMD's next-gen quad-core offerings for recovery, but for now with the pricewars hotting up with rival Intel, it's going to be loss after loss at AMD...
