With technology growing, the size of storage has grown too. We constantly need more space for moving larger files from one system to another, but we don't always have network accessibility. Whether it is movies, music or a system backup, the external storage size can be crucial to solving this dilemma. The Transcend Jetflash USB 3.0 drives are available in a variety of sizes and styles and might be exactly what we need. The Jetflash 810 is available in 4/16/32/64GB sizes while the Jetflash 760 is available in 4/16/32/64/128GB and available in either white or black. We have the opportunity to test the 32GB version of the 760 and 810. Continue reading to find out how well these drives do in our testing.
You are probably familiar with the company Transcend. Transcend makes a WIDE variety of storage solutions including USB flash drives, solid state drives, external hard drives, external CD/DVD drives, SD cards, digital photo frames and more. You are also likey familiar with the concept of an external hard drive. It's simply a standard hard drive of the 2.5" or 3.5" flavor tossed into an external case that connects to your computer typically via USB. Most people have one and use them for transferring large amounts of data or doing PC backups. Transcend took the typical external hard drive idea and replaced the old mechanical drive with a 2.5" SSD. The result is the ESD200 USB 3.0 external SSD, available in 128GB and 256GB flavors. Transcend sent us a 128GB model to review, so let's check it out!
PureOverclock’s Interview at Transcend with General Manager Clarence Chan and Marketing Director Leslie Garcia
As part of our ongoing efforts to connect with industry leaders in the tech world, we reached out to interview some of the premier manufacturers who might be able to educate us on various aspects of the industry. It is not every day you get an opportunity to visit a Premier Manufacturing Company like Transcend, a world class leader in the field of memory and consumer electronics. Along with my invitation I had the pleasure of touring their facility. After our tour, I sat down with the General Manager, Clarence Chan, and Marketing Director Leslie Garcia for an interview about Transcend. Before we jump into the Q & A, below is a bit of history about the company and its products, including a video.

Over the last couple of years or so we've looked at many Solid State Drives that feature various technologies in the attempt to boost speed and performance. Some have been successful, some have not. We've looked at many SandForce drives in particular, and today's SSD also contains the SF-2281 we've come to know and love. It's a popular setup, as consumers get top notch speed without having to fork out tons of cash. Today now we have the Transcend SSD320 in a 256GB capacity for a closer look. That's not a terribly flashy name for a speed demon of a drive, but we care less about the marketing and more about the results. In a sea of similar products, can this Transcend somehow stand out? Let's dive in and find out.
