Introduction Noctua… When we hear the name Noctua, the first thing that normally comes to mind is the color brown. We all recognize this color as Noctua’s trademark design for its fans. However, we also have come to know that Noctua holds a strong place in the CPU air cooling category. The popular NH-D14 and NH-D15 model CPU Coolers are some of the top performing units available, and hang in there even with some of today’s top performing all in one water cooling units. But if you know anything about those monster heatsinks, they are massive in size and for anyone looking to fit them into smaller, more compact chassis, that is out of the question. It turns out that Noctua does offer a wide range of smaller coolers that can fit those needs, but you do sacrifice some performance due the smaller design. Today, we are going to be look at a 2 new coolers by Noctua that are meant to replicate its popular D15 twin tower design and a new single tower platform. If we have learned anything from Noctua’s quality and performance, we can probably expect to see the same great results, but we are gonna put these to the test and find out. So with that said, we proudly introduce the Noctua NH-U9S and the NH-D9L CPU Air Coolers. Before we move into the details of both coolers, let’s talk a little bit about who Noctua is: “Noctua comes from a cooperation of the Austrian Rascom Computerdistribution Ges.m.b.H. with the Taiwanese cooling specialist Kolink In...
We see a lot more people changing over to water cooling these days to get the most performance out of their high end systems, but does it really take water to keep your processor cool? How do you gain maximum performance while minimizing the risk? Noctua, a well known company who has built their reputation in air-based cooling products, has released another member of their CPU cooling line: the Noctua NH-D15 air cooler. We got a chance to run this baby on our test bench, so read on to find out how well it performs!
Since the beginning of the PC evolution, fans have been a critical component used for cooling. Through the many years, we have seen technology evolve, and as the design of fans advance we have many options today to choose from. Your traditional plain fan blade and housing may have worked great in the past; however many of today's consumers are now looking for quieter noise levels as well as better airflow. With those factors in mind, fan blade and housing design becomes all important. Today we are going to be looking at a product from Noctua. Noctua has built a solid reputation by supplying some of today's best performing CPU air coolers. We have several of Noctua's newest editions in their fan sector in for testing. It will be our pleasure to take a closer look at these new models and see what they have to offer.
When you think of CPU air cooling, one name tends to stand out immediately for their exceptional quality, awesome performance and unusual styling. That's right, we're talking about Noctua. Noctua has been known for creating performance air cooling solutions with exceptional reliability and attention to detail. They manufacture a wide range of CPU coolers and fans and have a product that fits everyone's needs. Noctua was kind enough to send us their new NH-U12S and NH-U14S CPU coolers to put through the wringer so let's get to it!
With the popularity of small form factor builds becoming more common place over recent years, sometimes finding the right CPU Cooler can be a challenge. With the tight spaces in small factor builds, it really takes a special cooler to do the job correctly. Today we will be looking at the Noctua NH-L9i CPU Cooler. From an aesthetics stand point, we see that Noctua remains true to its brand by sticking to its traditional colors with the tan and brown fans. While this cooler looks small compared to the traditional line up from Noctua, this small form factor CPU cooler has a unique look of its own. From a performance stand point, we are going to see if it also holds true to Noctua's past performance. While this cooler was not designed to support high overclocks, today we are still going to put it to the test and see what it can do.
There are several instances, especially in technology, when taking up less space is important. Finding a good low profile cooler can be challenging, especially since the more compact designs don't always have the reputation of high performance. Today we will be looking at a low profile CPU Cooler that is designed be able to keep up with some of the popular larger coolers, yet do it in a more compact size. We have a low profile CPU Cooler by Noctua on the test-bench, and this one is called the NH-L12.
