Samsung EVO Plus Micro SD 128GB Memory Card Review

Introduction The last time I got to review a micro SD card, I may have gotten the technical details down, but the emotional impact wasn’t as strong. Since then, I’ve built a sizable amount of video reviews that are totally dependent on the ability of my Galaxy S7 smartphone. What can I say? I’m a freelancer and as such, my budget isn’t even in the range for a lower end DSLR at the time being. On the other hand, cell phones are a great alternative to expensive cameras for those on a budget, while offering significantly better video quality than a standard webcam. The only big issue comes with eating up tons of storage space quickly when I start using high quality settings in my apps. Capacity and write performance are critical for the kind of work I’m doing. We’ll begin looking at the Evo Plus 128 GB micro SD soon, but first let’s look at a statement from the company behind some awesome storage devices. For over 70 years, Samsung has been dedicated to making a better world through diverse businesses that today span advanced technology, semiconductors, skyscraper and plant construction, petrochemicals, fashion, medicine, finance, hotels, and more. Our flagship company, Samsung Electronics, leads the global market in high-tech electronics manufacturing and digital media. Through innovative, reliable products and services, talented people, a responsible approach to business and global citizenship, and collaboration with our partners a...

Rosewill EX-500 and EX-700 Earbuds Review

Introduction We would like welcome Mario to PureOC with his first review! Let us know what you think in the forums. In-ear headphones for me were always a necessary evil. Having decent sound that you could shove in your pocket and move around with seemed like a pipe dream. That’s not to say it didn’t exist, just that it likely cost hundreds of dollars for something I would potentially lose on the bus. Rosewill is trying to release some headphones that rival $100+ audio for half the price. We’ll soon see how they measure up, but let’s start off with a statement from the company first and offer our thanks for sending a sample for us to review. Rosewill’s mission is to consistently deliver reliable, high quality PC gaming, IT hardware and home products through leading innovation and long-lasting relationships. Rosewill Inc. was established in 2004, founded by manufacturing reliable, high-quality technology products. The first products under the Rosewill brand name included computer components such as computer cases, power supply units, keyboards, mice and cables. Over time, the product line strategically developed and entered new areas of growth, including PC gaming and home products. Under the management of experienced e-retail experts, Rosewill products can be found on all top e-commerce sites, along with product information and reviews. Today, Rosewill currently manufactures and markets an immense catalogue of inventive products among its three product ca...

AMD Ryzen 7 CPU Series Review: 1800X, 1700X and 1700

Introduction We’ve finally made it to this historic day here at Pureoverclock! It doesn’t matter whether we’re AMD fanboys or not, we’ve all been waiting for Ryzen to show up because even if we don’t plan to buy a chip any time soon, the CPU market has gone way too long without competition. Nearly four years ago, AMD released their last major high end release in the FX-9590. Even then, this was nothing more than a factory overclock of the 8350 that released in 2012. Shortly after, we started hearing that team Red was going to be dropping out of the high-end CPU race, while considering focusing their resources on APUs, consoles and mobile. I remember this time vividly and felt a sense of dread thinking about what would happen to the enthusiasts market if we only had one option. Thankfully, Lisa Su became CEO of AMD in 2014. It was during this time that I saw liquid cooling bundles added to the 9000 series chips, better designs on the array of included stock coolers, optimized releases of the 8000 series chips that included better clockspeeds at the same pricing, and the best news of all, the announcement of a new CPU architecture being designed named “Zen.” Everything Su has done for the company has built my hype for this moment and this review is going to determine whether she reaches “hero” status in my book or not. So without further ado, let’s get ready to enter into one of the greatest moments in my reviewing...

Aorus Z270X-Gaming 7 Motherboard Review

Introduction Well, I’ve finally done it. I’ve decided to dive into reviewing a motherboard. If you’re trying to build your own computer, the motherboard is probably the most important choice you can make. Even if you don’t plan on overclocking, chipsets, features, and quality make a huge impact on how your experience will turn out. I’ve been through my fair share of motherboards, but today I’ll be dealing with not only a new chipset, but a new branding as well. Let’s take a look at Aorus! By now, you’re probably pretty familiar to Gigabyte. They’ve been one of the premier motherboard manufacturers for years now, but in recent times they’ve been way more competitive in the gaming market. Aorus was a branding they used for gaming laptops, but they moved it to their motherboard series starting with the Z270 chipset. This gives Gigabyte a great branding strategy for gamers, but we’re looking for more than just gaming features on the Z270X Gaming 7. We’ll begin looking closer at the board soon, but first let’s take a closer look at Gigabyte as a company. It’s YOU That Matters. GIGABYTE is always consumer-oriented from the very beginning of product design to the end of value chain. With the focus on consumer needs, the delivery of customer experiences has been transformed into tangible and understood customer cares. Therefore, GIGABYTE has integrated the best quality of components to ensure outstandi...

GeIL Evo X DDR4 3200 Memory Review

Introduction Wait a second! Didn’t we already see an Evo X RAM review already!?! Alright, you may have caught us, but there’s a really good explanation for it. Uh…. You know what, let’s not look a gift horse in the mouth and just enjoy a second review, shall we? That said, DDR4 has increased at an incredible rate and some boards that are just a couple of years old have trouble keeping up with the higher frequencies already. Being PureOC, we wanted to make sure we got to take advantage of top stock frequencies and push a little past that as well. As such, we’ll mostly skip the packaging and closer look fan fairs. I’ll include a link to the previous review since it has those categories already, but I’ll also post video so you can get a closer look there as well. Since we have the Gigabyte Aorus Z270X Gaming 7 motherboard, we’ll be able to show off some nice RAM speeds as a result. We’ll get into the testing soon enough, but first let’s check out the company statement from GeIL one more time and thank them again for sending another sample our way. GeIL – Golden Emperor International Ltd. – one of the worlds’ leading PC components & peripheral manufacturers that concentrate in making the most innovative products, from memory modules, power supply units to gaming peripherals, for PC enthusiasts worldwide. Established in 1993, GeIL has soon become one of the most trusted memory professionals in the industr...

Introduction I can officially say that every heavy computer user needs a good, quality computer chair to go with their desk setup. The right kind of chair is critical to helping with posture, comfort and the long term health of your various joints. I may be in my early 30s, but I already regret not budgeting for the proper ergonomic seating at my various workstations.
