Introduction

Being king of the hill is such a fleeting thing most of the time. The battle to get there is often arduous, and the taste of victory is sweet, but it is usually short-lived, succumbing to the one behind you in their quest to reach the top. And so it goes, and the cycle extends to graphics cards to be sure; ATI and Nvidia, forever battling like two Titans.

Today we’ll be looking at the Sapphire 4870 X2.  It has been out for a while now, but it still certainly appears to be a card worthy to sit atop the mountain. Indeed, it features two GPUs on one card, and is gigantic, in more ways than one. FX Video Cards was kind enough to provide us with a Sapphire 4870 X2 to play with, so we'll do just that, both in this review and in a few subsequent ones to come.

"FX Videocards.com is an online e-commerce company bringing over 15 years of industry experience and passion to the graphics industry. Let's now take a closer look at the Sapphire Radeon 4870 X2.
