AMD Ryzen 2: What to Expect, What to Hope for, and What to Dismiss

The next generation of Ryzen is about to release, properly named Zen+, and a lot of speculation is floating around about the CPU performance. We should probably curb the expectations though since, AMD is unlikely to bring massive gains on a year after refresh.

Adata Shows Off “Liquid Cooled” RAM at CES, Project Jellyfish

Liquid Cooled usually indicates the image of water flowing over a block. Adata is actually using a method called phase change cooling, where a chemical boils at a low enough temperature to remove heat from the RAM modules. They named it project Jellyfish.

Enermax had quite a few products to show off at CES 2018. There was the Saberay PC Case, MaxTytan Titanium and Revolution Gold PSUs, T.B. RGB and Silence Case Fans, and LiqFusion and LiqTech CPU Coolers, Some of the best feature highlights are one click latches for glass panels and a really strong pump flow rate.



Phanteks Announces Revolt X and Revolt Pro, Dual System or Dual PSU

Pick your poison! You can have one PSU power two systems, or two power supplies for one computer. Either way, Phanteks adds an interesting innovation to the PSU market. Particularly for PCs that add extra graphics cards, like mining stations, being able to add a PSU can be pretty helpful.



Gigabyte Gives us our First Taste of X470 with the Aorus Gaming 7, Great Audio Please?

Gigabyte gave us our first taste of the AMD X470 chipset with their Aorus Gaming 7 motherboard. The features look great overall, but the choice of audio codec is still a mystery. Realtek is the standard choice, but Creative Sound Core 3D has audio card levels of quality.



Crucial Announces MX500 SSDs….. Again?

Sometimes, a single number change can be overlooked. The MX500 SSD is a new release that follows in the footsteps of the MX300. This drive has a new controller though, as well as decent improvements in read and write speeds across the board. Pricing looks great on these drives as well.



I’m So in Love with the Enermax Saberay and LiqFusion

Enermax showed off two products that really stood out at CES. The first is the Saberay PC case, which made its first appearance a year before, but has some notable changes before release. The LiqFusion is a new CLC that really sets a high standard for RGB lighting. It also has an external pump!



Ain’t Your Daddy’s ASRock! Killing it with M-ATX Threadripper Board

ASRock may be looked at as a budget company, but their quality is reaching impressive levels as of late. They also innovate and decided to bring AMD Threadripper to an M-ATX motherboad. The X399M Taichi looks like a fantastic home for a monster CPU, yet pricing will probably be great as well.
