Gigabyte FORCE K7 Stealth Gaming Keyboard

Most gaming keyboards use mechanical switches that couple each key to its own spring loaded switch. They are primarily designed to provide excellent tactile feedback. The majority of these switches use mechanisms from Cherry MX, and are identified by color (Black, Brown, Blue, and Red). Each color offers a slightly different design and is fine-tuned to provide a very specific feel while gaming or typing. Once in a while, you can still find some gaming keyboards that utilize silicone dome switches. These form little domes on a silicone membrane, and use the rubbery material as the switch resulting in a soft and silent feel. These switches often require a full press with each keystroke, slowing down the speed at which commands can be used. A variation of this is the scissor switch, which still uses a silicone membrane and dome switch, but comes in a slimmer profile and adds a stabilizing scissor mechanism beneath each key. Scissor switches are most commonly found on laptops, but a few low-profile keyboards can still be found for desktops and gaming. Today I have the pleasure of reviewing a new arrival from Gigabyte, The FORCE K7 Stealth modeled after and the Stealth Fighter Jet. This particular offering comes to us with a low profile configuration and keys with a scissor switch and membrane combination. The scissor-key structure boasts ultra-quiet performance with its low profile, and quick short key presses. It also has a slim and solid body style. Read on to see w...

Diamond Multimedia PlugnView Home Monitoring Security Camera kit

In this day and age security has become more of a need then a want because we are in an age where everything is being monitored. There are security cameras on streets, in stores, and just about every were you look. We give up some privacy, but in turn we get some piece of mind, knowing that if something should go wrong it will get captured on video. It’s also a hard fact that in most households both parents work out of necessity. Because of this, people are gone from their household for a minimum of eight to ten hours a day. Folks also have kids and pets at home, and in some cases care for the elderly. I know some who have very expensive security systems installed in their homes, and pay a monthly fee to security companies that monitor their dwelling while they are away. This, in turn, gives them some piece of mind. However many of us cannot afford that expense. How would you like to have a system in place that is inexpensive to purchase, and comes with no monthly fee? One that would allow you to look in on your children, see what Fido is up to, or just checkup on that grandparent or loved one who needs special care... Today we will be reviewing a plug and play surveillance system from Diamond Multimedia. The Diamond PlugnView is a remote home monitoring Internet night vision security camera kit. It is advertised as an inexpensive way to monitor and view things by camera, whether the inside or outside of your dwelling. It also does it wirelessly from devi...

NZXT FZ-200mm High Performance Fans

When it comes to computers, cooling is one of the first and foremost issues that must be confronted whether we are running our computers at stock settings or overclocked. It really makes no difference because there is always going to be heat generated from every electrical component in our system. My question to you is, how do you keep it under control? We all are aware of the vast amount of ways to accomplish this, whether it’s faster or bigger fans, or water cooling for example. Fans usually are the cheapest, easiest and most cost effective resolution to improve or adjust cooling throughout your system. Today on the test bench we have four NZXT FZ-200mm fans, including the non-LED and colored LED FZ-200 additions to the NZXT family of fans. The NZXT FZ 200mm fans are engineered to provide high performance cooling with an airflow rating of 103 CFM while maintaining a silent operating profile of only 20 dBA at the highest settings. This provides a 15% increase in cooling performance over their previous FS models. The FZ 200 sets a new standard with a true 200mm wide diameter fan blade and is NZXT’s most ambitious 200mm fan yet. If you’re anything like me and feel that looks are equally as important as performance, you are in luck. The FZ-200 comes in five different LED colors: Blue, Red, Green, White and Orange to match almost any build. Moreover each fan comes with long sleeved cables that will help you keep unattractive fan wires hidden from view. The NZ...
