Introduction
To a computer enthusiast (and overclockers in particular), nothing comes close in importance to the CPU cooler. A chip that can't be kept cool is a chip that will die early, and will be unstable. The hotter a processor becomes, the more likely it is to become unstable, or die. We all know this, and some of us, unfortunately, know this better than others and have had parts fail due to excessive heat. Thankfully, there is no shortage of firms trying to make better cooling solutions than ever before.

Some coolers are better than others, some perform as well as others, some are more quiet than others and it goes on and on. There are infinitely many ways to compare CPU coolers by design, but the only tried and proven way to know how well they cool is not to look at the box, but to test them. The cooler the CPU, and the quieter the HSF, the better!

For testing, we've got the Nexus VCT-9000. With a unique design featuring an an angled fan, it is striking, but how does it perform? Let's find out!

Thanks go to CoolTech (www.endpcnoise.com) for supplying the review sample.

“Originally founded in 1996 as a local custom build computer store, they sell specialty, high quality, quiet computer systems worldwide. They focus on handcrafted specialty computers, making the inside of their computers look as neat, and sleek as the outside. The company philosophy is to have an extreme, obsessive focus on the quality of their systems, with careful and meticulous attention to all details of the assembly, and design of each individual system. ”

Now let's take a look at the VLC-9000.
