Back in 2005, SilverStone released the world’s first uni-body chassis with their Temjin TJ07 full tower case. The TJ07 was known for unique look which was accomplished by using one single piece of aluminum bent into a U-shape that eliminated joints and holes in the front of the case. And many enthusiasts chose this chassis due to the holes provided for wire management and the lower HDD drive area where a larger water cooling radiator could be mounted internally without any modding required.
Then SilverStone gave us the rotated motherboard mount of the RAVEN RV01 chassis design in 2008. In 2009, SilverStone decided to create a new product line based on the uni-body design of the TJ07 named the Fortress series; the first chassis built on this design was the FT01. From the release of the FT01 there was a great deal of talk throughout the internet in so many forums as to the advantages of and the theory of “Positive air pressure” but most everyone finally decided that the FT01 is an excellent case. Notice a trend yet here? But, this is not another review of the TJ07, the Raven or the FT01.
Today we will be looking at the Fortress FT02; SilverStone engineers have combined the rigidity of unibody construction of the TJ07 with the unparalleled cooling layout of the RAVEN chassis, adding a hot-swappable hard drive cage and an acoustically-padded interior for maximum versatility resulting with increased structural strength, increased storage capacity, and whisper-quiet operation.
