If you've not had the opportunity to run an SSD, let me tell you they are fast. Blistering fast. Not only do your boot times drop through the floor, but programs load faster, response times are instantaneous, and the whole system is just so much "snappier'". Truth be told, whenever I have to work on a system with a traditional platter hard drive instead of an SSD, I want to cry. Patience be cast aside, I want speed!

Now, for those who think one SSD isn't fast enough (!), there is another option: a RAID array. Yes, the good old RAID 0 that can take the best characteristics of an SSD and send those speeds through the stratosphere. And to address those speed junkies, today we're looking at a pair of Corsair P64 SSDs in a RAID 0 configuration to see just what's possible. Corsair has been branching into other component markets beyond simply memory, from power supplies to cases, and with a foray into the SSD market we are looking for some top performance here as we've come to expect from Corsair.

There are a couple drawbacks to configuring SSDs in a RAID setup, so the speed boost does come with a significant tradeoff; primarily, the lack of TRIM support in Windows 7. So is the speed worth the disadvantages? That entirely depends on your perspective. Let's take a closer look at these Corsair P64's in RAID 0 and see just how fast they fly.
