Lately we've looked at several of the DX11-capable 5000 series graphics cards in the enthusiast, performance, and mainstream segment, and these cards have shown themselves to be impressive in terms of technology and sheer horsepower. However, we know that not everyone is a hardcore gamer or enthusiast, and there is a large contingent of consumers that need something more affordable that can still satisfy a gaming craving. As a result, the latest 5000 series card occupies the entry level segment, and today we're looking at it, the Radeon 5670.
The Sapphire Radeon 5670 is a budget gaming card, lower on the performance ladder than the 5750, and is clearly geared to consumers who occasionally do some light gaming, and particularly at 1280 resolution; the 5670 is not a graphics workhorse. It is a small, quiet, low-power card that is designed to be frugal in terms of power consumption, and to run cool and quiet, offering a good upgrade option for people on a budget or perhaps those with an older system looking to easily improve their graphics performance.
