With Intel's new LGA1156 platform, it would appear that high performance for the masses is the goal, attempting to bring performance to the mainstream. The costs are certainly lower than its big brother LGA1366 socket, but there are a few differences as well, one of which is in the memory employed: 1366 can utilize a triple channel configuration, whereas 1156 uses a dual channel setup. And with that difference comes new memory products from several manufacturers, each offering something a bit different, in terms of latency, speeds, aesthetics, and price.
Today we're looking at a set of Kingston HyperX T1 4GB DDR3-2133 modules that are optimized for use in the LGA1156 socket Core i5/i7 platform. We've seen in our past testing that Kingston modules typically offer great performance and value, so we'll see today if they can continue the trend.
