Introduction
We've seen most major memory manufacturers releasing new products optimized for the Core i5/i7 LGA1156 platform, and while these modules don't have the extreme horsepower of their larger LGA1366 siblings, they still pack quite a punch nonetheless. Reaching speeds above 2000MHz at 1.65V is testament to how far things have come since hitting 1250MHz at 2.5V on your hotrod DDR2 sticks was reason for enthusiasts to brag.

We have also noted in our recent testing that performance differences at the same speeds and timings are not terribly different, however the real disparity comes when looking to overclock, as the headroom for higher speeds is what seems to count on the 1156 platform. That being said, price is always a consideration, especially with the economy as it is.

On the topic of value, then, we're looking at a set of G.Skill Ripjaws 4GB DDR3-1600 modules that are designed for use in the LGA1156 socket Core i5/i7 platform. We've seen in the past that G.Skill modules typically great performance at excellent prices, particularly in the more "mainstream" market, so let's find out if G.Skill has produced another winner with these Ripjaws sticks.
