Introduction
Who doesn't like horsepower? We're all junkies for it, just go ahead and admit it, it's alright. "Hi, my name's Bob and I'm a performance junkie". Hi Bob! Now, doesn't that feel better? Funny thing about being a hardware nut is that it can get pretty tough on the bank account, trust us, we know. And few people can afford an endless supply of premium products to satisfy the hunger. What's an enthusiast to do? You could go beg mom or dad, or get a second job, or hope to win the lottery, we suppose. Or you could just give up computers altogether. Blasphemy! Well, there is another option: you can look for great products at great prices, and learn to sacrifice just a little bit of performance in order to fuel your passion. Ah, that sounds like just what the doctor ordered.

Enter the Elitegroup Computer Systems, with their A785GM-M Black Series motherboard.  Coming in at $90 USD ($72 after rebate), this board is much more affordable than all of the premium boards we've seen lately. But what does this board bring to the table from the 780 chipset? Can the enthuiast-oriented features translate into improved performance? Let's find out.

Our thanks go to ECS for supplying us with the review sample.
