Introduction
It has been said that a person's ideal choice of car is simply an extension of their own personality. And while it can be fun trying to guess what is being compensated for when words like "Veyron", "McLaren", or "Saleen" are used, it's probably an excercise in futility when we consider the price tags of such things. Certainly the principle can be applied elsewhere, no?

So why not computer cases? Indeed, aesthetics are such a personal thing, but mixing in a strong dose of practicality and function certainly makes the results interesting. Size, weight, colour, materials, number of drive bays, installation designs, suitable for water cooling? These are just a sampling of the considerations that factor into the process of choosing a computer case, and with such a range of choices on the market to suit just about any need or budget, the process can be frustrating. But it can also be most of the fun, if you look at it with a sense of adventure perhaps.

Today we're experiencing a sense of deja vu. We're looking at the Cooler Master HAF 922, which bears an almost identical name and setup as its bigger brother, the 932, except that the former is a mid-tower while the latter is a full tower. Interestingly though, the 922 isn't actually a "shrunken" version; in fact, it looks to offer several improvements over its larger sibling, in a slightly smaller form that should appeal to a larger audience, and with a more attractive price tag to boot.

Cooler Master seems to be a very quick study, fixing some of the problems noted with the 932 and bringing a new form factor into the mix, promising an outstanding feature set that's normally seen only on full tower cases. Similar to the car example, I'm not sure if the HAF 922 would first jump to mind when asked which mid-tower case would suit my personality, but ask again after the review is complete. I have a sneaking suspicion there may be a new favourite mid-tower on my horizon.
