Introduction
Sound is such an integral part of most people's lives that we probably take it for granted. In certain instances, sound can define the essence of something, or certainly greatly enhance it at the very least. I remember my music professor many moons ago explaining that sound was probably the only human sense that didn't require "active" participation; you could just let it "be there" and sink in.

My prof, however, probably was not a gamer; I don't think he understood that sound does indeed require active participation when playing videos games. Truth be told, it's essential and perhaps even a prerequisite to an immersive gaming experience. Sound lets us pretend "we're there", it completes the picture, and yes, it even helps us own the little noobies in a Deathmatch server from time to time if we can hear them coming first.

Today we're looking at the Saitek GH30 Gaming Headset, a product that specifically caters to gamers, and offers vibration effects to enhance the realism of that gaming experience we so ardently seek. The GH20 is priced very competitvely, so let's take a closer look and see just how well it performs.

Our thanks go to our friends at Saitek / Mad Catz for supplying the review sample.
