Introduction
I have to admit that I love horsepower as much as the next person. Truly. There's nothing like a big, beefy graphics card that can shred a game at 1920 resolution. But I also realize that sometimes good things come in small packages, and often the most exciting surprises lurk around the corner in the most unassuming places. I remember a petite brunette in university who had the nicest.......uhh........smile. Yes, indeed, good things often aren't the biggest.

My feeble attempt at a segue brings us to today's topic: mid-range graphics cards, and specifically one that appears to pack a serious amount of horsepower in a small package. She's no brunette, but she does promise you a good time. In video games.

AMD made a push to reach the 40nm GPU milestone, and they have accomplished that goal, fabricating a chip that should run cooler and draw less power than its predecessors. Sapphire is one of the companies at the forefront of the 40nm market, and we have one of their Radeon 4770 cards fresh off the production line. But the question remains: does it push great framerates? Beauty will only get you so far, then the proof shines when you pull off its........heatsink. Yes, it's the weekend and I'm sitting in front of the computer, playing video games and pulling apart some hardware. If only that brunette could see me now....

Thanks go to our friends at Sapphire for providing the Radeon 4770 for this review.
