Introduction
It's always interesting to look back on things from yesteryear; we tend to focus on the positive and gloss over the negative, perhaps in an effort to paint a more pleasing memory and enhance our current place more fully. It's usually a good notion, a way of giving us perspective to move forward, but sometimes it can cloud our judgment of things. Case in point: Does anyone really think the brown and orange design schemes of the 70's will look any better nowadays?

Everything old is new again, so the saying goes. Well, newer isn't always better, but on rare occasions it can be if you fuse the best of the old with the new. Today we'll take a trip down memory lane, sort of, with the new Cooler Master ATCS 840, a full tower case that has its roots in yesteryear and has been reborn with a redesign by Cooler Master.

Cooler Master has been busy updating their product lineup of late, introducing several new cases targeted to the gamer crowd, as we've seen with their Storm Sniper we recently reviewed. But taking a chance a re-introducing the ATCS series is a move that could be seen to compete with one of its own beloved products, the 830 Stacker, a case that has reached almost iconic status, particularly in the modding community. No small feat, the ATCS 840 has very big shoes to fill, not only looking to supplant the 830, but also having to live up to its own lineage in surpassing the original ATCS chassis. Clearly, Cooler Master has a daunting task on its hands. Today we'll look at the ATCS 840 and see if it's up to task.

Our thanks go to our friends at Cooler Master for supplying the review sample.
