Introduction
In the heyday of the classic muscle cars, the saying went, “Bigger is better.”  Horsepower was in, and it was either Big Block or bicycle for you.  Certainly V8 is great, but these days you can sit in a V10.  Heck, I even got to drive a V10 Dodge Viper for awhile, and let me tell you, the horsepower under the hood was intoxicating.  But as we know, horsepower comes at a price, in various ways, and it’s not limited to cars either.

Computer cooling is susceptible to the notions of “bigger is better” no doubt, as we’ve seen CPU coolers becoming larger over the last several years.  And Cooler Master’s latest foray into the market is no exception.  V8?  Pffft.  Go for the big block V10 or else stay on the porch, right?

Today we’re looking at Cooler Master’s V10 CPU cooler, a beast of a unit that is big, brash, and bold in its styling and performance claims, boasting thermoelectric-assisted (TEC/Peltier) air cooling for today’s hottest Quad Core CPUs.  A tall order, to be sure, but as they used to say, “the proof is on the track”.  We’ll do just that, pitting the V10 against another top air cooling competitor on a highly overclocked Core i7 920 CPU that’s juiced up to see if the Peltier can get the job done or get left in the dust.

Our thanks go to our friends at Cooler Master for supplying the review sample.

Cooler Master was founded with the mission of providing the industry's best thermal solutions. Since its establishment a decade ago, the company has remained faithful to this mission, emerging as a world leader in products and services for companies dealing with devices where heat issues must be resolved.  The three cornerstones of Cooler Master's business philosophy are innovation, speed, and customer satisfaction. Together, these ensure that Cooler Master is the supplier that the companies around the world rely on to deliver the best thermal solutions.

Let's rev up the engines and take a look at the V10!
