Introduction
OCZ has traditionally been a company known for its memory products. Recently they've been expanding their product lineup and this includes a foray into the world of cooling, specifically for processors. They've had success with their previous products, the Vanquisher and Vendetta, and have now released the Gladiator. I'm noticing a theme here, aren't you? Doesn't it remind of you of a certain movie.....Russell Crowe, a gladiator on a vendetta to vanquish oppressors? Ya, I thought so. I guess certain words just thematically fit well together.

In any event, on the test bench today is the OCZ Gladiator Max, which offers Heatpipe Direct Touch (HDT) technology, a newer trend in tower-style heatsinks, and promises some efficient cooling numbers. It does look eerily similar to a few other products; namely OCZ's own Vendetta 2, as well as the Xigmatek S1283 and Sunbeam Core Contact Freezer coolers we've also reviewed. Well, let's see if the Gladiator Max is victor or victim.

Our thanks go to our friends at OCZ for supplying the review sample.

Entering the memory market in August 2000, OCZ Technology was built to manufacture the best high speed RAM. OCZ was founded by enthusiasts, and our commitment to the end-user has not digressed. At OCZ we have one goal, to make sure that every customer is 110% satisfied.

Now let's take a look at the Gladiator Max!
