Introduction
In the mid-range performance segment for gaming, ATI has had some very attractive products lately, particularly the Radeon 5850. Indeed, the 5000 series cards have been very popular overall with consumers. Nvidia struck back with the GTX 480, a powerhouse card that some may say was a strikeout. Though it does have some issues, notably heat and power consumption, it still packs some serious horsepower nonetheless. However, for those who can't afford a flagship cards such as that into their budget, the GTX 465 offers a much more attractive price tag.

ASUS is one of the few companies that sells both ATI and Nvidia products, and today we'll be looking at its Nvidia side of things with the GTX 465. Perhaps you're an Nvidia fanboy, perhaps you're attracted by its PhysX capabilities, or maybe you want monster Folding@Home capabilities; whatever the reason, if Nvidia products appeal to you, then today may strike a chord.

The ASUS GTX 465 is based on the reference Nvidia design, but it does bring a few ASUS-specific features to the table. Like to overclock? Want to adjust voltages without voiding your warranty? Want some excellent overclocking headroom? Then you're in for a treat today, as this ASUS card looks to improve upon a couple of the shortcoming of its flagship sibling, setting its sights directly on the Radeon 5830 and 5850, both in terms of performance and price.

Thanks to ASUS for supplying the review sample.
