Xigmatek Prime SD1484

Xigmatek has a winner with the Prime SD1484. The performance is wonderful and installation is simple.

Xigmatek Prime SD1484 CPU Cooler Review

The 9-blade fan is very quiet while moving a lot of air. The only downside is that an ~$80 CPU cooler doesn’t come with the fan cable sleeved or at least all one color.

The Prime protrudes farther into the RAM area than any other cooler I’ve tested. It does this so far in that it actually puts pressure on the stick in the second slot. I wouldn’t want to run this all the time with lateral pressure on the stick so definitely keep this in mind if you plan on buying it.

The testing showed that the Xigmatek wasn’t the best performer at stock clocks, but once you start pumping some heat through it it performs very well. The Xigmatek Prime SD1484 retails for $79.95 but can be found over at Xoxide for just $51.95. At that price the performance is stellar and a sure bet to put on your list.
