Overview

Hardware:

Manufacturer:

Price at time of Review: $51.95 at Xoxide

WHAT WE LIKED:

Great performance, low noise, MSRP a little high but can be found much cheaper.

WHAT WE DISLIKED:

Fan installation can be tricky, fan cable not sleeved, no warranty time could be found.

BOTTOM LINE:
The Xigmatek Prime SD1484 performs well but the fan installation can be tricky. $51.95 price tag is well below the original MSRP.

Introduction

Xigmatek is one of those companies that’s been around for a while but still aren’t a name most people use on a daily basis. They’ve got a long history of cases, CPU coolers, fans and accessories as well as power supplies yet they’re not nearly as well-known as companies like Cooler Master or Thermaltake. This doesn’t mean they are inferior though, and they make some pretty nice products. They were kind enough to send us their Prime SD1484 CPU cooler to review. Can this cooler from the little guy perform? Let’s find out.

Xigmatek Prime SD1484Here’s a word about the product from Xigmatek.

“An outstanding performance air cooler, Prime SD1484 creates most efficient heat conduction and imbalance heat-pipe arrangement to provide dissipating surface and cooling performance. Prime SD1484 combines 140mm PWM fan, rubber fan clip, 4pcs Φ8 heat-pipe, supports multiple-platforms, and can be used on Socket 1366/ 1155/ 1156/ 775/ 2011 platform, and AMD FM2/FM1/AM3+/AM3/AM2+/AM2 Socket.” – Xigmatek
