Summary

The Xigmatek NRP-HC1201 is a power supply that delivers solid features and rock solid performance when heavily loaded with a case full of power-hungry components.  From a feature standpoint, the accessories included in this package are excellent, a great assortment of sleeved modular cables that support SLI/CrossFire setups is provided, an easy-to-use and colour-coded connection design is employed, and all housed in a scratch-resistant finish.  From a functional standpoint, the NRP-HC1201 boasts excellent voltage regulation, very good efficiency, and a very quiet operation.

The only detractions here are the fan noise when more heavily loaded, as it does not benefit from lower noise levels, although the tradeoff is that the exhausting air is cooler than several units we’ve seen. The other niggle is the price, coming it at approximately $280 USD, which puts this Xigmatek unit in a tough market segment for this power level with several other competitors. It is a quality unit but it is also rather expensive.

The NRP-HC1201 1200w is a great power supply that offers an excellent combination of features, functionality, and aesthetics.  If you are looking for a high-end power supply and need tons of power to feed a hungry beast of a system, this unit should be on your shortlist.
