Xigmatek Lighter 60GB
Introduction
With an ever-increasing need for portability, particularly for data transfer, there are currently few options available to people on the go. The ubiquitous USB flash drive is an option, but if you need large storage capacity then that gets expensive. External drive enclosures for traditional hard drives are another option, but they’re big and heavy. Enclosures for 2.5" SSDs might work but the SSDs themselves are extremely pricey. What’s that leave us for options?
Xigmatek thinks they may have the answer: the Lighter portable drive. Offering a smallform factor that is smaller and lighter (no pun intended, honest) than a traditional portable enclosure, it comes in a 60GB capacity, but more importantly comes with a very attractive price tag.
USB connectivity is the name of the game here with the Xigmatek lighter, so let’s take a closer look and see just how well this drive can try to live up to Xigmatek’s claims.
