Conclusion

I was very impressed with the Transcend 380G and its ability to quickly exchange files between PC, tablet and phone without the need of a cable. The size is extremely small and is perfect to fit in a purse or pocket. Just don’t forget it’s in there. Transcend did an amazing job in creating a solution for adding external storage to your mobile needs without requiring an OTG (On The Go) cable. While the average read speed we received while testing of about 23MB/s is ok for its intended purpose, the write speed is horrible being about 5MB/s to write to the drive. Although the 380G is capable of being used on any device, regardless of its OS, devices that are not running 4.0 or later lose the feature of utilizing the backup feature.

At the time of the review, the Transcend Jetflash 380G 16GB is listed at $19.99 found on Amazon.com with a manufacturer’s limited lifetime warranty. It’s a cheap way to increase your mobile’s external storage capacity with ease of transferring to a computer. We present the Transcend Jetflash 380G with the PureOverclock Great Hardware Award.

You say “Here we see that the 380G registered with a sequential write speed of 21.4MB/s and a read of 5.3MB/s.”, but according to the screenshot it’s 21.4 read and 5.3 write.
