External drives are often one of those things that tend to slip your mind when planning your computer dream system. Well, to be honest, all the best hardware in the world is nothing compared to the value of irreplacable data…..your photos, your music, your work or school reports. We’ve personally seen too many people lose important data, loses that could have been easily prevented or avoided with a simple backup drive. Nothing fancy, just a plain old external storage system that would do the trick. USB interface is expected but e-SATA would certainly be nice.

Today we’re looking at a new drive enclosure from Thermaltake that features both interfaces, looks great, and is reasonably priced: the Thermaltake Vi-On. Weird name, but who cares if it does the trick well, right?

We would like to thank Thermaltake for supplying us with the review sample.

?Since the beginning of Thermaltake in 1999, it has been at the forefront of creating new and exciting products at a time where most computer users were provided little to no choices for components that may seem irrelevant, but are in reality crucial to the performance of a PC. Thermaltake Server Series solutions, with years of thermal experience and industry leadership, sets its goal on reforming total thermal management in the server segment by formulating the perfect mixture of versatility, efficiency and thermal management with each respective server product category: Rackmount Chassis, Server Fixed & Redundant Power Supply and Server CPU Cooling Management Solutions.?

Now let’s take a look at the Thermaltake Vi-On External Drive Enclosure!
