Thermaltake BlacX Duet
Introduction
Backing up data. It takes too long. It’s boring. It doesn’t look very good. It’s not exciting. It doesn’t do the dishes. It doesn’t cook dinner, but it needs to be done. If you’re like me, you’ve got way too many hard drives. Nothing could possibly be more tedious than either opening up your computer, popping in a few hard drives, checking their contents, backing them up, possibly, and then restarting this process. Similarly, continually popping the drives into an external so you can access them without losing your current Windows session would be incredibly time consuming, and also potentially sleep inducing.
Likely the easiest way to go through a process of this sort would be through an external hot-swap unit, a unit that would allow for drives to be installed and removed quickly, easily and without having to go through an installation process for every last unit. Thermaltake has sent us their BlacX Duet hard drive hotswap bay for review. Supporting both USB 2.0 and eSATA, and with bays for 2 hard drives, it seems to fit the bill perfectly, just by specs alone.
Thanks to Thermaltake for supplying the review sample.
