Not long ago our look at a Sparkle 1250W power supply, we were pleasantly surprised, as it went beyond our expectations for a first "kick at the preverbal cat" from a company typically known for graphics cards. From build quality to overall performance it was a near flawless first attempt, but the unit did come with a hefty price tag, which might have left a sour taste in some end users mouths even with the included gift card.

The remarkable raw power offered by the GW-EPS1250DA without a doubt left some who may have been in the market at that time looking at getting one of the beasts. Today Sparkle has given us the opportunity to look at another one of their gold certified power supplies in the form of a 850W unit. Sporting the same aesthetics as its bigger brother, will it offer the same performance at the lower wattage to consumers who have a more modest budget?

Let’s dive into this review and find out.
