Introduction

A common analogy for the processor is that it is the brain of the computer. By extension, we can assume that the processor’s cooling is the coping system for caffeine, a substance that speeds up brain operation but can have adverse side affects. The better the coping system, the better the cooling, the faster and high you can clock. This is, of course, assuming that your ultimate goal is speed, plain and simple.

Some folks opt for more quiet operation over blistering speed. Both positions are easily defended, as both are valid points.

The Scythe Yasya is a heatsink with use for both sides of the coin. It can operate silently, or offer beefier cooling power with the built in fan speed controller that goes in through an expansion slot.

It has a unique look, and Scythe is known for their fans, but how does this heatsink hold up against stiff competition? Let’s find out!
