Remember when adding another stick of RAM to your computer made a noticeable jump in performance? Or how much of a difference that new SSD made? Well, we may have another one of those sorts of big jumps here, but this time it has to do with displays. In truth, it’s not exactly new, but it’s now just easier and more affordable. It’s time to double up on monitor performance. Sapphire no doubt has a big interest in multi-monitor computing; they were the first company to introduce an easy Eyefinity solution, effectively rendering the old Matrox Head2Go products obsolete.

Sapphire’s latest peripheral is the VID-2X. What the VID-2x does is take a single video output from your desktop or laptop and gives you double the pixels across two monitors. This device doesn’t just stretch the same 1080p image across two monitors; it actually scales up to a resolution of 3840×1200 when two 1920×1200 monitors are connected. Sounds intriguing.

So let’s see just how much of a difference the VID-2X can make for you.

"Pioneers in a new era of how data is displayed and games are played, Sapphire shepherds the performance oriented with ground-breaking solutions to an environment that remains in a constant state of flux and ultimate evolution. For over ten years Sapphire has held true to its unwavering commitment, the commitment to deliver the most feature rich and soundly engineered products."
