Package and Accessories

Starting with the package and accessories, the 7970 Vapor-X comes in typical Sapphire syling for this latest generation series: a black box with a few graphics and a large render of a gamer babe; this one is dressed in white camouflage and sporting Lara Croft-esque attire. The accents on the box are silver rather than blue like other Sapphire styling, setting the Vapor-X apart in the SKU lineup.

Essential information is displayed on the front, such as the 3GB of GDDR5, the GHz edition speed of the card, and a few other items normally indicative of the Radeon 7900 series.

The rear of the box continues more detailed information about the main features.

Inside the box, Sapphire has included a fairly robust accessory package, including HDMI cable extender, Molex-to-PCIe power cable converters, CrossFire bridge, Quick Installation Guide, driver disk, and registration information. No free game included this time around, unlike what we saw with many 6000 series cards.

Let’s take a closer look now at the card.
