Summary

As we’ve said before and we’ll continue to hammer any chance we can get, the single biggest bottleneck in modern systems is the traditional platter-based hard drive, and using an SSD in your system will make such a massive difference that you’ll want to cry if faced with having to use a traditional hard drive afterwards. Make no mistake, the speed boost is that pronounced! In fact, we are of the opinion that no piece of hardware is more critical to the overall performance of your system than an SSD. Period.

The SandForce controller is indeed a force to be reckoned with, producing some outstanding performance results. SanDisk has just raised the bar by a significant margin. Again this is the second fastest SandForce SATA III drive we have tested to date; with regard to Vantage scoring, the only SandForce drive to beat it is the larger version of this same drive. The combination of SanDisk’s new 24 nm toggle NAND and a new firmware have produced a drive that gives real world performance that is top notch.

The Pure Point: If you can’t afford the 240GB version then definitely get this 120GB drive.
